Mark Biggins

Mark is a conductor and pianist and current holder of an HR Taylor Trust Award and Reintamm Conducting Award at the Royal College of Music where he studies with Peter Stark. Alongside The Northwood Choral Society Mark is Music Director of the Bowes Park Community Choir and St. Margaret's Church in Putney. In demand as both a choral and orchestral conductor, Mark has conducted orchestras and choirs across Europe and America including the Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra, RCM Symphony, Wesleyan College Orchestra, Yale Philharmonia, Clare College Choir and Yale Schola Cantorum.
A passionate educator and scholar, Mark holds degrees in Musicology from Cambridge and Music Theory from Yale University and has taught undergraduate courses in harmony, counterpoint, keyboard and aural. For two years Mark served as music director at the University Church at Yale and the Saybrook College Orchestra with whom he led a series of educational concerts.
This year Mark will conduct the RCM Philharmonic, assist Tim Murray at West Green House Opera, conduct a guest concert with the Petersfield Orchestra, share the podium with Bernard Haitink at the RCM and complete a residency at Aldeburgh with Larry Zazzo.
