Who Could Ask for Anything More?
Our Summer Concert took a slightly different format this year... We were not expecting to be singing from our living rooms for the final concert of the season - but what an absolute joy it was. With songs ranging from Gershwin's "I got Rhythm" ably performed by Alison to Lisa's smouldering "The Man I Love", Chris's "Nothing Like A Dame", Sarah's comedic "Mr Snow", more comedy from Lesley with the girl who "Can't Say No" and Sylvia's "Happy Talk" and touching moments from Andrew "On the Street Where You Live", Keiko "Some Enchanted Evening" and Sally's "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" . Everyone performed beautifully and the performances were definitely on a different level from the tuition session the week before. It was great to see the final renditions of our Virtual Choir projects this term and the evening ended with a stunning rendition of "Edelweiss" sung entirely from the heart by Carol.
It would be fantastic to say we will be meeting back in our usual format in September. Unfortunately we cannot currently do so. However, we are hoping to expand our membership next term to beyond Northwood to the whole of the UK and we ask you to share widely with singers all over the country to come and join us for a term learning beautiful music, preparing for Christmas and some virtual choir projects and learning more about how our voices work. We are inviting any singers interested to join us for an hour on September 20th on Zoom to resume our musical activities. Anyone interested should email northwoodchoralsociety@gmail.com or RSVP to the event on our website.
Looking forward to seeing you all then!!!
